WebAzathioprine (Imuran®) is a medication that treats diseases that have to do with your immune system. It’s been used in some patients with multiple sclerosis (MS), usually if they have problems with standard FDA-approved medications for their MS. Studies have shown that azathioprine can reduce the number of flare-ups in patients with relapsing MS. WebPatients in the study group (n = 21) were switched from azathioprine to mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) 3 months after heart transplantation. The expressions of the activation markers CD25, CD38, CD69 and HLA-DR on B cells, T cells and natural killer (NK) cells in peripheral blood were determined by flow cytometry.
